A North Carolina man gas been charged with obtaining property by false pretense and common law forgery, both felonies.
North Carolina Å˽ðÁ«´«Ã½Ó³» Commissioner Mike Causey announced the arrest of David Fitzgerald Bishop Jr., of Winston-Salem. According to special agents with the state insurance department’s criminal investigations division, Bishop obtained $290,482.76 from Wilson Brothers Milling Co. by providing the company with a false certificate of liability insurance to gain payment.
The incident occurred on July 30, 2023, according to the arrest warrants.
Bishop was arrested on Nov. 2 and released on a written promise to appear in court. He is set to appear in Chatham County District Court on Nov. 25.
