Alliant Å˽ðÁ«´«Ã½Ó³» announced that a first-of-its-kind degree program at Southern University and A&M College has received final approval from the Louisiana State Board of Regents.
The Alliant Å˽ðÁ«´«Ã½Ó³» Foundation Degree Plan Program at Southern University and A&M College will focus on increasing access to the insurance industry through education and career opportunities. The Alliant Å˽ðÁ«´«Ã½Ó³» Foundation is granting the Southern University System an initial investment of $1.4 million over a three-year period to support the program.
Beginning in the 2024-2025 school year, students can obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Risk Management, and Å˽ðÁ«´«Ã½Ó³». Students pursuing this major will complete coursework that educates them on risk management techniques and insurance coverage and equips them with vital risk management tools for application in real-world situations and career planning opportunities.
In addition to the creation of the academic program, the Alliant Å˽ðÁ«´«Ã½Ó³» Foundation has committed to investing in the careers of current and future Southern University students through a range of supporting initiatives. This includes outreach, internship opportunities, and support with job placement.
