Job Description
The Data Analytics Senior Consultant - Excess & Surplus is responsible for leveraging data and analytics to answer complex questions and influence business strategy through communication of findings to senior management. The position is also responsible for developing standards of practice around data retrieval, data manipulation, data reporting and data analytics. This position deals with non-admitted markets.
Key Responsibilities
鈥 Compiles, cleans, organizes and analyzes complex data to understand business results
鈥 Monitors and evaluates business initiatives against key performance indicators and communicates results and recommendations to management
鈥 Provides technical expertise
鈥 Utilizes data and analytics expertise to coach and develop less experienced analysts
鈥 Makes the business insights derived from data analytics accessible to those without technical skills
鈥 Influences strategy through data and analytics
鈥 Establishes, modifies, documents and communicates standards of practice around data retrieval, data manipulation, data quality, data reporting and data analytics
鈥 Communicates and presents project information to team and provides presentations/updates to management
Functional Skills
鈥⒙燗dvanced analytical and problem-solving skills
鈥⒙燦avigating a new landscape with limited direction聽
鈥⒙燙reativity, curiosity, ability to ask questions
鈥⒙燛xperience in different programming languages such as SQL and R
鈥⒙燗dvanced proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including PowerBI
鈥⒙燝eneral insurance knowledge
鈥⒙燬trong communication skills, both written and verbal
鈥⒙燛xperience working with Big Data
鈥⒙燭ime management and organization, including the ability to handle multiple projects
Education
鈥 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred) - preferably in Math, Statistics, Finance, Business, Economics, IT or related field or equivalent experience
Experience
鈥 3 or more years of data and analytics experience
鈥 2 or more years of insurance experience, preferably in the non-admitted marketplace
Supervisory Responsibilities
鈥 This job does not have supervisory duties.
Education & Experience (in lieu)
鈥 In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is $66,800.00 - 120,650.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
