Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

As the Technology Operations Consultant, you will leverage your experience with many different disciplines and technologies supporting Mainframe, Network, Voice, Distributed and Cloud based systems. You can act independently to adapt quickly to new technologies and changes and lead the team in their adaptation.
What Will You Do?
- Perform and adapt to many operational tasks (analyzing alert patterns, developing specifications for enhancements, troubleshooting slow or malfunctioning applications/infrastructure interrelationships) across a multitude of disciplines and technologies.
- Diagnose and resolve issues independently.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training to the team to ensure they continue growing and expanding their skills.
- Consult and collaborate with the engineering teams and business units to assist them with their changes to the infrastructure and ensuring adherence to standards.
- Lead the team to identify repetitive work functions that can be automated and work with the Automation Team to eliminate that work.
- Leverage capabilities within ServiceNow to streamline issues and workflows to maximize efficiency.
- Lead the team to identify improved monitoring opportunities and improvements.
- Ensure there is effective documentation available to the team either by creating and publishing or supporting members of the team to do so.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
Distributed Systems Skills: A strong understanding of how distributed systems work, which can include experience with technologies like cloud infrastructure, network protocols, and managing workloads across multiple servers or nodes.
Windows Server Expertise: Experience with managing and maintaining Windows Servers, which includes tasks like, configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and managing security on Windows environments.
Linux Proficiency: Experience with Linux-based systems, including system administration, shell scripting, and understanding of Linux networking and services. This would be useful in hybrid environments that involve both Windows and Linux systems.
Mainframe Knowledge: Experience with mainframe technologies is beneficial, especially in legacy systems or for organizations that still rely on mainframe computing for critical applications.
Operational Awareness: This involves not only technical skills but also the ability to manage systems in an operational capacity, focusing on uptime, efficiency, and problem-solving.
In addition to these skills, the ideal candidate should have the ability to think critically and operate effectively under pressure in day-to-day operations, likely requiring excellent troubleshooting skills, a solid understanding of system architecture, and the ability to collaborate with other teams.
Must be able to work independently and demonstrate effective decision-making skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor, and develop less experienced employees.emonstrated ability to participate and communicate within the team and with external groups.
What is a Must Have?
- Five years of proficiency with one or more technologies across Mainframe, Network, Voice, Distributed and Cloud based systems.
