The Role
Requirements writer -鈥 using actuarial experience as well as experience with actuarial valuations for pension and retiree welfare (OPRB) plans, write detailed requirements for actuarial system functionality related to funding and accounting requirements for pension and OPRB plans. Quantify FR currently supports Funding valuations for pension plans (US, Canada and Ireland) and Accounting valuations under US GAAP and IAS 19 for pension and OPRB plans. In the role, you will:
鈥 Define calculation requirements for changes to existing calculations and for enhancements and additional calculations, including appropriate documentation in internal results worksheets
鈥 Define client report changes, including appropriate automations and reports covering single and multiple plans
鈥 Work with colleagues from the Retirement Business globally to identify business needs and collaborate on feature visions and use cases to inform detailed requirement writing
鈥 Define workflow improvements to time-saving functionality, such as bulk valuation processing
鈥 Work with Quantify team developers and testers to support the development and ensure appropriate testing of system changes
鈥 Develop code changes needed in MS Excel workbooks that support the financial calculations and internal worksheet documentation following established protocols and procedures
鈥 Develop code changes needed in MS Word report templates that support the generated client reports using special conditional display code and use of parameters for all values and report automation parameters
Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
鈥 Developing business needs, visions and use cases defining the functionality required
鈥 Gathering requirements for functionality from business representatives (workstream groups, application experts, actuarial and business leadership, colleagues with specific support needs)
鈥 Reviewing/modifying detailed system design 鈥 Providing support to development personnel for design reviews
鈥 Creating detailed Test Plan Summaries to support testing
鈥 Providing support to testers about business content, testing methodology, scenario development, when and how to test outlying situations
鈥 Learning and using the established coding methods in the MS Excel and MS Word files that are integrated in Quantify FR鈥檚 launch code.
鈥 Drafting and/or reviewing user communications related to new features and other fixes
鈥 Ultimately assisting with user support, answering questions and researching reported issues
The Requirements
鈥 B.S. in Actuarial Science, Business, Management, MIS, or related disciplines including Mathematics or Computer Science
鈥 Very strong analytical skills with a strict attention to detail
鈥 Strong understanding of actuarial valuations (processes, calculations, business requirements for plan funding, accounting under US GAAP and IAS 19, etc.)
鈥 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
鈥 Strong research, interpersonal, and interviewing skills to gather information from business representatives and subject matter experts
This position will remain posted for a minimum of three business days from the date posted or until a sufficient/appropriate candidate slate has been identified.
Compensation
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $95,000 - $125,000 USD per year. This salary applies to US locations only.
This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
