The California Property �˽��ýӳ�� market is in a complete meltdown. Sources, Stories, supporting documentation - not required if you are in the industry. Its rough out there - I can promise you.

My Question is - Are there any new MGAs, MGUs, Insurers, Tech Insurers, Admitteds, Non-Admitters - entering what is now a hard to place property insurance market? DICs, DP3s, HO3s, HO6s, etc.

CARGO INSURANCE with diminished value and consequential loss coverage

Hello,
One of my trucking customers (auto hauler) needs coverage for cargo to include diminished value/ consequential loss coverage. He only has 1 truck. Tried Lloyds through a couple of MGAs-no luck. Progressive, Northland, Canal-don't cover it.
Any ideas who might write it?

Off-road vehicle Repair - Garage or GL with GKLL

Looking for some opinions. I have a garage account that services 100% off-road vehicles - ATV's, dirt bikes, buggies. Nothing that can be driven or requires a license. Pretty much every available E&S market declined or will only offer $300K. I was thinking, how do these types of businesses get coverage? So my thought went to perhaps a GL policy (instead of Garage liability) with GKLL. Would this open up some additional options you think?

Offroad vehicle Repair shop (CA)

Hello,

Any other ideas for garage liability/gkll for an offroad vehicle repair shop? 100% dirt bikes, buggies, ATV's. I'm in CA. Current wholesaler placed them with Atlantic Casualty last year and said that the guidelines have changed and they can no longer write it. Declinations from Colony (will only write $300K), Mesa, Western World, Century (will only write $300K), Hallmark (StarStone) due to high offroad vehicle percentage. Pending at Kinsale.

Westfield �˽��ýӳ��. Has anyone else having problems with Underwriting, Billing, just plain customer service. Seems you can't get anyone to do anything at that carrier anymore. Quotes sit on the UW desk for weeks and endorsements taking months to fix. Billing has no clue what a customer owes and always sending out cancel notices to our management system when the account is paid in full or on ACH.

Non Resident License for California

Slightly random request. I am looking for an Agent that holds a current Non Resident License for the State of California. I am working with a Nevada agency that has a rep in CA. However, their rep is a CA Resident. The CA DOI requires a Non Resident License to complete the approval process. A bit of a head scratcher...

Foreign Auto for Tour operators that lease/rent passenger vans

Is there a way to cover this with U.S. based insurance? Foreign package specialists like AON's TravPro have advised they can't offer HNO for this (and it makes sense since they are effectively acting as transport companies), and also, ISO's auto form lists worldwide as the coverage territory except it limits coverage to private passenger only (and these would be 20+ person vans, so not PPTs).

Anyone have experience with this? My thought is that they need to get in-country insurance for this -

So today IJ has this on seven cyber insurers bypassing ISO-Verisk and LexisNexus to form their own bureau.

Also know that IJ had it's own data breach issue with not closing a security issue in Wordpress such that data that should have been behind a login was actually public. Once they did close it, they deleted the post and did not inform users. Oh OH! Isn't this not ethical IJ???

Party Pedal Bikes in Arizona

I have some party pedal bikes I need to find a market for. They're vehicles with about 12 sets of pedals that are used to transport people around in a downtown area. Tours include lake tours and state park tours and no alcohol on either. The policy is insured for all other vehicles but I cannot find coverage for these party pedal bikes.

Question On Agency Salary Survey

Hi all, I just downloaded the Agency Salary Survey yesterday and was curious if anyone knew, does the average compensation shown include just the base salary, or total comp including commissions, health insurance benefits, cars, cell phones, etc.? For example, $126,674 for a manager with 11-20 years experience, is that just the base salary not including any commissions they may receive for new and renewal business, or is that everything? Any insight would be helpful, thanks!

Call Center Agent Looking for Advice

Hello everyone, thanks so much for taking the time to read this post. I am a captive agent that has worked at a large inbound insurance call center for the last four years. I am thankful I've had the opportunity to sell auto, home, umbrella. I've also learned to service our auto polices and some home product. I feel I'm at a crossroads in my career and would greatly appreciate any and all feedback. As a company I feel we pay lip service to quality, however it is all based on close rates and policies sold. There is very little accountability and the push to sell at all costs encourages things like not explaining acv on roofing and property, glazing over huge percentage deductibles, incorrect mortgagee information, butchered replacement cost calculations, etc. We sell home insurance on behalf of multiple companies, and no one is really an expert on any particular carrier. Frankly some of these companies are not regarded very highly. Many policies uprate considerably after the inspections or get cancelled and that is generally acceptable. The general theme seems to be you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs. I'm not saying I work with bad people or heartless people, but the overall structure seems very reactive to issues instead of proactive. I make about 50K a year and have good healthcare, but It hurts to see customers hung out to dry. If I am complaining so much I should probably do something about it. Any advice on transitioning to working for a local agency would be great. I won't lie it is a bit of a scary prospect. I'll be having a child soon and want to be financially secure, but I want to feel like I am truly helping people. Thanks for any and all advice on the subject.
